Ayurveda

Ayurveda, translated as "wisdom of life", is a 5,000 year-old preventive holistic health care system from India. Traditionally, Yoga and Ayurveda are practiced together and are believed to be inseparable sisters. Ayurvedic wisdom helps us to understand who we truly are, why we are having the challenges that we are having, and how to overcome them, so we can lead happier, healthier and more satisfying lives.

Ayurveda believes that everything on this planet, including our bodies, consists of five elements: space, air, fire, water, and earth. Every individual is a unique combination of these five elements and has a unique constitution. Throughout our lives because of our environment, the way we think, deal with stress, what and how we eat, relax or not relax, exercise too much or too little, etc, we get further and further away from our constitution, from who we truly are.

The goal of Ayurveda is to bring us back to who we truly are and restore balance in our bodies and minds. Through lifestyle adjustments, diet, herbs, meditation, yoga, oil and sense therapies, Ayurveda brings us back to our true nature where we experience the state of optimal health, balance, and happiness.

Ayurvedictreatments:

Abhyanga, Ayurvedic body massage: "Oil is to the body as love is to the soul," according to the ancient healing system of Ayurveda. Warm oil, prepared specifically for you, is applied to your body in slow, smooth strokes. You will feel rejuvenated and relaxed after this treatment.

Ayurvedic Facial: Your face is massaged with a hand-made, 100x washed ghee. After, a special Ayurvedic mask, which is ground fresh from solid sandalwood, nutmeg, manjistha, anantamul, and calamus, is applied to your face while your hands and feet are massaged with special oils.

Ayurvedic Face Rejuvenation: Experience pure bliss. We are using marma points on the head, face, neck, shoulders, and feet (similar to acupressure points). This marma sequence rejuvenates your whole body and contributes not only to the outer but also inner beauty.

Shirodhara: Imagine a fine stream of warm oil smoothing over your forehead, on the area surrounding the third eye. This wonderful feeling relaxes the nervous system and helps to calm & clear the mind...

Nasya, Nasal oil drops: A calming treatment for any pain or discomfort in the shoulders, neck, face & head (e.g. sore neck/ shoulders; headaches; allergies; congestions; loss of smell; sneezing, sinusitis). It is also a very effective treatment for insomnia, sunken & puffy eyes, and dark circles under the eyes.

Eye Basti, Ghee bath for the eyes: Relieves tension, pain, and fatigue from the eyes; helps with glaucoma, conjunctivitis, cornea inflammation, sunken eyes, poor eyesight, and other eye disorders. Also removes redness, brings rich luster to the eyes and smoothes out wrinkles.

Ear Basti, Oil treatment for the ears: A potent remedy for your ears. Decreases dryness and itching in the ears, air pressure, tinnitus (sound in the ears).

Heart Basti, Oil bath for the heart: A tranquil treatment for your heart, especially for those of you who have heart problems (weak heart, after heart attack, etc.), who travel extensively and whose hearts are under lots of stress.
