Phytotherapy: TCM

Jill Stevens is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist specializing in holistic pediatrics, women's health and pregnancy, and family wellness. In her practice, Jill treats acute and chronic illness through the use of Chinese herbal medicine, stimulation of acupuncture points (with or without needles for children), homeopathy for acute illness, flower essences, and nutritional therapy and supplements.

Holistic pediatrics is a long-term, safe, and effective approach to caring for children's bodies and spirits through the use of natural medicine. It works to promote healing and wellness for a child's mind, body, and spirit; providing medical care with a strong focus on education and prevention. When working with children, Jill provides a comfortable and non-threatening atmosphere. She works to help parents become the first line of defense in their child's wellness; supporting them through education, openness, and 24 hour availability.

Healthy pregnancy and women's reproductive health can be safely and effectively supported through the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Morning sickness, threatened miscarriage, breech baby, emotional stress, premenstrual syndrome, menopausal symptoms, and painful or irregular periods are just some of the common ailments that can be gently treated through the use of acupuncture and herbs. In addition, some of the other more common conditions Jill treats through natural medicine are: asthma, allergies, frequent colds and flus, digestive disorders, emotional concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia, neck, back and joint pains, arthritis, headaches, and more.

Jill received her Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as her certification in Traditional Shiatsu Massage from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco. She is licensed by the State of California Acupuncture Board and is a diplomate of Oriental Medicine, certified by the National Commission on Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. In addition, Jill studied more than 700 hours through the Holistic Pediatric Trainings national organization to continue her education of natural medicine for children. To help incorporate acupuncture and Chinese Medicine into the birthing process she also completed the advanced doula training through Cornerstone Doula Trainings in Oakland, CA.
