Phytotherapy - Botanical Medicine - Herbalism

Phytotherapy, also called botanical medicine or herbalism, is the use of plants or plant extracts for medicinal purposes. Phytotherapy has been used since ancient history to treat and cure people all around the world. Humans have always found plants in their environment that have healing qualities and have used them successfully to treat a wide range of medical conditions. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that over 80% of the world's population currently depends on herbal medicine for its primary healthcare.

Phytotherapy combines the best of science, medicine and nature into a personalized, holistic natural medicine solution. In phytotherapy, plant medicines are used to stimulate and strengthen the body's normal functions, helping the body to heal itself naturally. Herbal medicine tends to be more gentle than pharmaceuticals and have fewer side effects which makes it a safer form of treatment for most people.

We offer three different forms of herbalism at our center: Chinese Herbalism, also referred to as TCM, Ayurvedic Herbalism and Traditional European Herbalism. Each has a different history and is based on a different theory. All of them can be used effectively to restore health and bring your body into balance.
