Develop and maintain a great sense of Balance.
Having good balance is important as we get older. We all know someone who took a fall and how unpleasant and potentially disabling this can be!
The Facts:
- Starting in our 20’s the sense of balance begins to slowly degrade unless steps are taken to maintain equilibrium.
- Each year one in three Americans 65 and older falls with sometimes disastrous medical consequences.
- Most people who move to a nursery home are there because of hip problems and unsteady balance.
While certain declines with age are unavoidable, physical therapists, physiatrists and fitness experts have repeatedly proved that much of the sense of balance can be preserved and even restored through exercises that require no special equipment or training.
Learn exercises to improve your sense of balance so you can enjoy the freedom of movement into old age.
